History

Eagle has an inspiring history realized by the hard work of its enthusiastic founders and dedicated management team.  Eagle officially opened its doors for business on September 1, 1996 with three offices, 10 employees, and 100 contractors.

Since then, Eagle has successfully grown to become one of the leading professional staffing companies in Canada with 10 offices, 90 employees, and 900 contractors.  Over the past years, Eagle has developed an exceptional reputation in both the community and the industry.  Furthermore, Eagle and its people have been recognized with numerous industry and business awards, including being one of Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies every year since 1999.

Eagle’s Timeline:

1996:
  • Eagle opens its first three offices in Ottawa, Toronto, and Calgary.  The company begins with only 100 contractors and 10 employees.
1997:
  • After only one year of operation, Eagle has 150 contractors, 17 employees, and earns $18 million in revenue.
1998:
  • Eagle opens two more offices in Montreal and Vancouver.
  • Eagle is listed for the first time on in the Branham300 Listings – ranking #27 on the Branham Top 50 IT Professional Services list.
1999:
  • Eagle is named one of Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies for the first time.
  • Eagle opens an office in Halifax
2000:
  • Eagle reveals a new corporate brand including a fresh logo, core values, and a different set of company colours.
2001:
  • Eagle sponsors MASC’s Young Authors and Illustrators conference for the first time.
  • Eagle makes its first major donation ($65,000) to the Children’s Aid Foundation.
  • Eagle unveils its scholarship program to support exceptional students in IT related programs.
2002:
  • Eagle wins the ACSESS Community Involvement Award.
  • Eagle opens an office in Edmonton.
  • Eagle CEO, Kevin Dee, sits on the MASC board of directors.
  • Kevin Dee sits on the board of the Innovator’s Alliance, an exclusive network for CEOs, COOs, and Presidents to network and share experiences.
  • Eagle President & COO, Janis Grantham, is an Ontario finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year
2003:
  • Winnipeg office opens.
  • The Ottawa Chamber of Commerce names Eagle Mid-Market Business of the Year.
  • Eagle receives the Business Recognition Award from the Council for the Arts in Ottawa
  • Eagle receives an honourable mention at the Southern Alberta Better Business Bureau Ethics Awards
2004:
  • Eagle is awarded the Children’s Aid Foundation Corporate Award.
  • Eagle CEO, Kevin Dee, is elected president of the Association of Canadian Search, Employment, and Staffing Services (ACSESS)
2005:
  • Eagle opens offices in Victoria and Regina.
  • Eagle President and COO, Janis Grantham, wins multiple awards:
    • Ranked #4 on the list of Top 100 Women Business Owners in Canada by Profit Magazine
    • Named one of Canada’s Top 100 Powerful Women by the Women’s Executive Network
    • Business Woman of the Year in the Consumer’s Choice Awards.
  • Eagle earns Platinum Status for being one of Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies seven years in a row.
2006:
  • Kevin Dee is named CEO of the year by the Ottawa Business Journal.
  • Eagle celebrates its 10th anniversary with 900 contractors, 90 employees, and $98 million in revenue.
  • Eagle receives ISO 9001:2000 Certification.
  • Eagle is named one of Canada’s Top Small and Medium Employers.
2007:
  • Kevin Dee joins the Ottawa Leadership Table on Homelessness.
  • CEO, Kevin Dee, joins the United Way’s major gifts committee.
2008:
  • Eagle is the first national company to win the ACSESS Community Involvement award for the second time.
2009:
  • CEO, Kevin Dee, name Consumers Choice Award’s Business Man of the Year in the Ottawa-Gatineau Region.
  • Kevin Dee named Ottawa Life Magazine’s “Top 50 People in the Capital”.
