Eagle Joins in Celebrating Staffing for Canada Week 2008
Ottawa, ON, May 30, 2008 – Eagle Professional Resources (Eagle) will join hundreds of staffing companies across Canada in celebrating Staffing for Canada Week. The week, organized annually by the Association of Canadian Search, Employment, and Staffing Services (ACSESS), takes place June 1st to June 7th and consists of multiple events organized by staffing companies and local ACSESS chapters to raise money for charities. The main focus of the week is to recognize the many accomplishments of the industry. Through a variety of services including recruiting, candidate screening, and employment placing, staffing companies provide a valuable service to thousands of organizations across Canada while making an important contribution to the Canadian economy and helping hundreds of thousands of Canadians find jobs.
Canada’s political leaders have taken this opportunity to recognize the staffing industry for its important contributions. In a letter to those participating this week, Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty said, “I applaud the staffing industry and temporary and contractual employees for their invaluable contributions to the continuing prosperity of our province and country as a whole.” In a similar letter, Prime Minister Stephen Harper wrote, “This week highlights the important role that temporary and contract workers play in helping Canadian businesses succeed in a competitive global economy.”
Eagle is very active within the staffing industry, including its involvement with ACSESS at the board level, as well as participation in various ACSESS initiatives and events. “Not only do we celebrate the services that the staffing industry offers to thousands of companies and job seekers, but also the high ethical standards of ACSESS’ member organizations,” said Eagle’s Executive Vice-President, Bill Hanniman. “The fact that so many member companies and ACSESS Chapters celebrate this week by giving back to the community certainly makes Eagle proud to be a part of this great industry.”
