Eagle Listed Among Canada’s Top 25 on Branham300
Ottawa, ON, April 7, 2010 – Eagle Professional Resources Inc. (Eagle) is proud to announce, that for the 12th year in a row, the professional staffing company has been listed among the best IT service companies in Canada. Announced today in the April edition of Backbone Magazine, distributed through the Globe and Mail, Eagle ranked in the Branham Group’s “Top 25 Canadian ICT Professional Services Companies” and listed in the top 50 on the overall “Top 250 Canadian Technology Companies” list of the Branham300.
The Branham300, which ranks Canadian Information and Communication Technology companies by annual revenue, is compiled in cooperation with The Branham Group and Backbone Magazine. In order to be considered for this ranking, companies must have been founded in Canada, their corporate headquarters must remain in Canada, and the corporate direction must be determined in Canada. Now in its 17th year, the ranking is described by the Branham Group as “The most comprehensive listing of publicly traded and privately held IT companies in Canada” with a goal of raising the profile of the Canadian ICT industry at both the national and international level.
This year’s listing reflected the volatile year experienced by many companies in the ICT industry with the industry’s leading firms seeing a mix of both opportunity and hardship. There was a large amount of merger and acquisition activity in 2009, while investment in research and development, sales and marketing, and core activities reduced significantly. The Top 250 Technology Companies had combined revenues of $71.32 billion, down six per cent from 2008, but still up 43 per cent from 2003. The 72 firms in the ICT Professional Services sector contributed a combined $10.32 billion to that total.
