Life's Little Instruction Book

On the coffee table in my office I keep a couple of small books that are easy to browse, and every now and then ... not as often as I should ... I will pick one up and read a few pages.

One of those books is Life's Little Instruction Book with 511 suggestions, observations and reminders on how to live a happy and rewarding life! I wish it were that easy!!! However there is definite merit in following the tips in this book. I was particularly intrigued today because the author originally wrote this book as a road map for his son as he headed out to college. I dropped my son off yesterday ...

Here are a few gems that struck a chord with me:

Call your mother :-)
Say "Thank you" a lot ... say "please" a lot.
Sing in the shower.
Never underestimate the power of a kind word or deed.
Take care of your reputation, its your most valuable asset.
Leave everything a little better than you found it.
Become the most positive and enthusiastic person you know.
Praise in public ... criticise in private.
Be kinder than necessary.
Don't whine.

and 501 others!

If you like to remind yourself what is really important then pick up a copy ... its $7 well spent!
