Positive Influences

In April last year I wrote a blog entry about Positive People, and I referenced it again recently in an entry I wrote about People Who Inspire. Today’s blog is a little more mundane than those entries … sometimes we just need a pick-me-up, and positive people can do that.

Who do you have in your life that is a Positive Influence?

Do you have people in your life who drain the energy from you?

Life is rarely so simple that we can draw a line in the sand and refuse to associate with the negative influences in our life … or choose to only deal with the positive people. There are however tactics that we can employ.

#1. Identify all of the people in your life who are a negative influence.
#2. Identify the people who are positive influences.
#3. Make a plan to reduce the amount of contact with the negative people and increase the contact with the positive people.
#4. Add more positive people into your life … hang out with winners!
#5. Develop strategies for being more positive yourself! Be aware of your body language, think positive thoughts, read positive and motivational books.
#6. Understand yourself and do whatever you can to avoid the blues”.
#7 Recognize that we all can feel down sometimes and develop strategies to deal with it. Perhaps you need some alone time, or you need to be around positive people, or there are specific people who always make you feel better. We all need our own coping mechanisms.
#8. Make plans and goals for your life. If you are on the right track in your life and moving in the right direction it automatically makes you feel better.

Positive influences in your life can make a world of difference.
