Today is Pink Shirt Day. I read about it in one of John Izzo’s latest newsletters (worth a read) … this is his article on Pink Shirt Day.
Pink is very often associated with breast cancer causes, however a student was bullied for wearing a pink shirt to school and the reaction from some other students to that event drove a movement to stop bullying … hence Pink Shirt Day.
I did try to link to the Pink Shirt Day website … however it has a sign saying Suspended! Not sure what that is about.
There is however plenty of coverage across the country … a blog on the Our Big Earth site; an article in the Province (Vancouver); even a Facebook page dedicated to Pink Shirt Day.
A good cause … a good marketing strategy and a strong message that bullying should not be tolerated … and to me that means anywhere!
