None of us really know how our life will work out. Even when we embark on our career we have little certainty about where it might take us.
Along the way things happen …
companies change, move, are bought, go out of business etc.
Industries change … are impacted by technologies, new innovations, global competition or evolution;
people change … they move, they get ill, they find other interests, they get new commitments or they grow.
The one thing we can be sure of is that the knowledge and experiences we accumulate along the way are what will prepare us for the future.
So … if knowledge and experience are so important, what are YOU doing about that?
Are you continuing to learn? Are you actively taking courses, reading books, absorbing advice from mentors and staying current with your industry?
Do you know what is going on in the world around you?
How much time are you investing in your development? Do you expect your company to give you everything you need or are you active in your own development? Do you EVEN take advantage of what is available to you?
Our world is changing and if we are not changing and growing too then we will be left behind.
“Commit yourself to lifelong learning. The most valuable asset you’ll ever have is your mind and what you put into it.” …Brian Tracy.
