The Last Push

Anyone who has ever worked out with a trainer knows that they will push you for that last bit of effort before you get to rest.

What that final push does is a couple of things …

1.  It conditions you to be able to “push through” when your mind is screaming at you to stop; and

2.  It is building your stamina and muscle mass to another level.

Both of these results are needed when you play competitive sports.

That same approach can be applied in our daily lives … whether it is at work or at home.

If you never “push yourself” then you will never develop the capability to push beyond where you “think” your limit is … you will never really know what you are capable of.

When you are tired and want to quit early …

when you are tempted to go off your diet …

when you feel like hitting the snooze button instead of getting up to exercise …

THAT is when you have the opportunity to “take things to the next level”, to push yourself just a little.

As we head into the holiday break you might be tempted to take your foot off the gas, slow down a little and coast into the holidays.  If you are a salesperson that will mean a slow start in the New Year and perhaps the difference between making plan or not.
