Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) are used by nearly all major staffing companies, procurement departments, and HR departments. They're computer programs that manage all job applications and use artificial intelligence to screen resumes and identify which candidates are best suited for specific jobs.
While many Applicant Tracking Systems are extremely sophisticated, they still can't process variables that a human would be able to recognize. As a result, if your resume isn't formatted in an ATS-friendly manner, it could end up at the bottom of the pile when it should be at the top.
To ensure your resume isn't being falsely ignored by an ATS, have a look at this infographic from Cybercoders. Should you still have questions, leave them in the comments and we'd be happy to answer them for you.
