Job description

Our client is looking for an Application Monitor Developer to support our Pega Platform. The successful incumbent will have strong technical skills with the ability to work independently. As a member of the AOS CRM and Contact Centre team supporting Pega, responsibilities will include building and maintaining application monitors build in Broadcom’s Digital Experience Manager’s suite of monitoring tools.  This is a 6-month contract starting immediately.

Key Skills for Application Monitor Developer:

  • Expert knowledge in JMeter scripting
  • Experience building and maintaining Broadcom ASM and AXA monitors using JMeter scripts
  • Knowledge using Grafana or comparable dashboard technology
  • Background in Java development
  • Hands-on application and production support experience
  • Strong working background with client-server environments and exposure to web-based applications (Redhat Linux, VMware, Docker containers, Kubernetes)
  • Experience with relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle) or similar database technologies
  • Solid problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle several tasks efficiently
  • Ability to work independently as well as being a strong team player with the ability to work effectively in a multi-site environment
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle several tasks efficiently
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Experience with System Development Life Cycle Methodologies and Agile Methodology
  • Proven analysis and development skills preferably with a degree in Computer Science, related technology degree/diploma, or equivalent experience


  • Experience with technologies such as J2EE, JSP, EJB, XML, Java and Red Hat Enterprise Linux
  • Understanding of Change Management and Release Management process
  • Experience with source code management tools.
  • Understanding of web and distributed application development.

As Application Monitor Developer, you will be responsible for:

  • The Candidate will primarily support the development and maintenance of ASM and AXA monitors, deliver new functionality and modifying existing monitors within Sun Life’s environment.
  • Provide ongoing support of the Pega systems by building and maintaining monitoring for multiple application across production and non-production environments, creating and responding to service requests, problem analysis, resolution, escalation and reporting as necessary
  • Identify and participate in system stability, upgrade, and business continuity projects
  • Apply analysis skills to understand and assess the impact of infrastructure and technical changes within the environment
