Job description

We are looking for a Senior Project Manager for a long-term, highly visible client project in the Telecom industry.

Assignment Length:       12-month contract

Assignment Starting;      Immediately

As the Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Lead and manage the project's end-to-end lifecycle.
  • Facilitate project team meetings – including immediate IT team, Vendors (internal/external), Business (when applicable), Operations, etc.
  • Build cost estimates for project phases.
  • Create and present Investment Priority Council (IPC) documentation (when applicable)
  • Create and manage Year-End Estimates (YEE) budgeting for each project.
  • Ensuring forecasts are met, and variances are managed with a sponsor. Includes forecasting staffing requirements and spending for the budget.
  • When applicable on "Direct" projects, take responsibility for; creating Project Contract, updating YEE, completing all necessary Due Diligences, completing Controller classification document and holding a review with Controllers to get approval on spending.
  • Create the Project Plan/WBS with the project team, review weekly, and provide updates to the Program Manager.
  • Manage Change Management for projects, log and track all Change Requests and ensure that they are managed within the budget or secure appropriate approvals from sponsor/finance/IPC for incremental funds.
  • Facilitate the creation & completion of project deliverables, such as the SRS, Test Plan/Cases, and Operations documentation - working with the Business Analyst and Technical Prime and the other project stakeholders to ensure project documentation is complete and accurate with full-sign off obtained.
  • Coordinate with Vendor PMs on the creation of their vendor deliverables, such as Data Mapping, System Specification and Design Specifications, Logical and Physical Data Models (LDM/PDM), Operations Documentation (Production Guides, etc.) - working with the Vendor PM to ensure their deliverables are complete and accurate with full signoff obtained.
  • Store all approvals, due diligence, and signoffs on Project or Workspace eSpace site for auditing purposes.
  • Ensure that the Business Analysts maintain traceability between business requirements, product features, and functional requirements throughout the development of the SRS document to completion of testing results.
  • Work with Business Solutions Architect to ensure the Conceptual Solution is updated to reflect any changes resulting from SRS or subsequent CRs.
  • Engage the QA team or BA to create a test strategy and plan (when applicable)
  • Review test strategy and plan – ensure business sign-offs on plan and test cases.
  • Track and update project status reports – align to the IT BIG PMO processes.
  • Facilitate and Report on SFT/UAT test status daily so SPM and Director. Hold daily UAT/SFT calls with the team for defect resolution.
  • Create Go/No Go log and hold a Go/No Go call to secure extended teams' buy-in to proceed with deployment.
  • Close project after project complete – complete PEATS Due Diligence closure activities, compile Lesson Learned from the project team and formally communicate project closure.
  • Formally communicate project closure.
