Job description

Eagle is assisting our client in need of a Senior Project Manager - Band V for a 5-month contract starting immediately. This role, in partnership with the department, is also responsible for the evolution to a lean-agile mindset and practices to improve the understanding and adoption of agile at scale. This includes facilitating knowledge sessions, fostering momentum, and using continuous improvement methodologies.

Key Skills for Senior Project Manager - Band V:

  • Minimum of 3 years working as a Scrum Master
  • Recognized Scrum Master and SAFe certification
  • Experience in facilitating KanBan, Scrum and SAFe
  • Experience working in a highly demanding software development environment - including web and mobile
  • Working knowledge of Dev/Ops and CI/CD principles, toolsets and test automation is an asset
  • Ability to resolve conflict and improve team dynamics
  • Superior decision-making, consensus building and conflict resolution skills
  • A continuous improvement mindset to drive improvements to the process and team performance
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong technical acumen with knowledge of software development – including web and mobile
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and meeting stakeholder expectations
  • Experience with the Atlassian suite such as Jira, Confluence, BI reporting tool and Big Picture
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills both in-person and written
  • A keen and demonstrated interest in learning opportunities to further develop self and community

As the Senior Project Manager - Band V, you will be responsible for:

  • Effectively facilitate Team (Scrum) and participate in Program (Train) Ceremonies
  • Support Scrum Team to define clear sprint goals and S.M.A.R.T. PI objectives
  • Encourage increased quality of stories - ensuring business value and acceptance criteria are clearly articulated and defined
  • Assist Product Owner with prioritizing user stories and backlog refinement
  • Proactively identify impediments and resolve them in a timely manner
  • Identify and Manage risks & dependencies between teams and vendors
  • Effectively collaborate and negotiate with other teams and Scrum Masters to manage cross dependencies and sequencing of deliverables
  • Manage resources, risk, quality, scope and deliverables
  • Ability to escalate responsibly
  • Provide coaching and support team members on Agile and Scrum practices and principles
  • Track, interpret and respond to team metrics, sprint progress and release status
  • Assist in release management facilitation
  • Promote and encourage the team to attain self-sufficiency
  • Introduce new and advanced practices to improve processes, team dynamics and performance
  • Solicit and encourage team feedback to identify areas of opportunity and work with the team to continuously improve
