Our Client is an innovative PEI-based IT company specializing in Software Development and Consultancy and currently has a permanent opportunity for a Senior Software Developer. They are made up of two primary business lines – eHealth and e-Business and have been in operation since 1993 with a growing workforce of over 140 employees.

Key Skills for Senior Software Developer:

  • Bachelor of Computer Science degree, or a suitable combination of education and relevant work experience;
  • Ten plus (10+) years of experience in programming;
  • Five plus (5+) years of experience in programming with modern JavaScript frameworks development tools, web and database technologies, including Angular 2+, SQL, NodeJS, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and TypeScript;
  • Experience with GitLab Continuous Improvement (CI), GIT, Docker/Containers and SVN would be considered an asset;
  • Experience with MVC concepts would be considered an asset;
  • Passionate and highly motivated, flexible and adaptable in regards to learning and understanding new technologies;
  • Proven experience working with agile tools and methodologies;
  • Hands-on software troubleshooting experience;
  • Excellent understanding of coding methods and best practices;
  • Hands-on experience developing and maintaining automated test cases;
  • Excellent understanding of coding methods and best practices;
  • Database and operating systems experience;
  • Highly logical, technically proficient, and keen attention to detail;
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment;

As Senior Software Developer, you will be responsible for:

  • Develop technical design in accordance with functional specifications, and participate in design reviews;
  • Develop new application software specifications and construct application code;
  • Maintain existing application software specifications and maintain existing technical documentation;
  • Follow quality assurance standards to be used during design, development and implementation phases;
  • Perform unit and integration testing of software to ensure proper and efficient execution, as well as requirements compliance;
  • Support systems in test and production environments, and assist with problem resolution/debugging;
  • Support and maintain existing in house applications for clients, and develop enhancements to existing software; and
  • Maintain client satisfaction by meeting client priorities and service level agreement targets in a timely manner.
